Carolyn Eslick moved from Oregon to purchase a business in Sultan, Washington 4 decades ago. She owned and operated the Dutch Cup Restaurant for twenty years. During that time she found her voice in local government and was appointed to the Sultan City Council where she served six years. After selling her business she had a run for the State Representative position in 2002. After the campaign, she worked as a business consultant for Snohomish County Economic Development Council and NW Women’s Business Center. In 2008, Carolyn ran for Mayor for the City of Sultan and served almost ten years. Carolyn has always been an advocate for Small Business. She started GroWashington in 2011 to help startup businesses. She founded two Retail Incubators in Snohomish County, one located in Snohomish and one in Everett. Carolyn applied for the open State Representative seat when Rep. John Koster resigned. She was appointed on September 20, 2017. During her first Olympia Session, Carolyn was successful in passing her first bill. The bill communicates to citizens information when Department of Fish and Wildlife propose to relocate wild animals.
