About Brian Burnett
Brian serves Washington’s 12th Legislative District, bringing decades of public safety, leadership, and community service experience to Olympia. A former law enforcement professional and current Director of Law Enforcement Services for Seattle’s Finest Security, Brian is committed to protecting what matters most: individual rights, public safety, private property, and parental involvement in their children’s lives.
Prior to serving in the Legislature, Brian was elected Sheriff of Chelan County for three consecutive terms, serving 12 years from 2011 to 2022. During his law enforcement career, he worked to strengthen public safety partnerships, support victims of crime, and promote accountability within the criminal justice system.
In the Washington State House of Representatives, Brian focuses on reducing crime, supporting families, prioritizing taxpayer dollars, returning decision-making authority to local communities, reducing unnecessary burdens on small businesses, and advancing victim-centered justice that holds offenders accountable.
Brian currently serves as Assistant Ranking Member on the Early Learning & Human Services Committee and serves on the Community Safety, Civil Rights & Judiciary, and Appropriations Committees. He also serves as Minority Assistant Whip and was appointed to the National Conference of State Legislatures Public Safety Committee.
Brian and his wife, April, have been married for 39 years. They are proud parents, grandparents, and lifelong Washingtonians dedicated to serving their community and state.
