About April Connors

A life-long Tri-Citian, April was in elementary school when she discovered a penchant for leadership and passion for community service.

At nine years old, she showed her first 4-H steer at the Benton-Franklin County Fair. The same year, her tenacity would earn her a spot as one of the first girls to play on the local little league team. That spirit of fierce determination would go on to serve her well through high school where she served on the ASB, participated in sports and the drill team, and held numerous local, state and national leadership positions in Future Farmers of America.

A highlight of April’s time with FFA was being selected to attend the State’s President’s Conference in Washington D.C. During her trip, she met landmark leaders like Slade Gorton and John Block, and attended a Rose Garden address from President Ronald Reagan.

April graduated with a B.A. in Communications from Washington State University. During her time at WSU, she wrote for the Daily Evergreen, was a DJ for KUGR radio, and completed an internship at KSTW in Tacoma. After college, she worked for a law firm as a legal assistant, writing and maintaining city codes, as well as assisting a lead attorney in a housing case brought to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In 1999, April returned to the Tri-Cities, met her future husband, Mike, and quickly dove back into community service. After establishing her own real estate business, her leadership was put to work again when she was invited to serve on the Windermere Group One Board of Directors. She’s also served on the local PTO, volunteered with the Academy of Children’s Theatre, and is currently serving on as a Board Member for the Kadlec Foundation.
