Community has always been very important to me. I enjoy working with my neighbors and colleagues to find solutions. I see a great value in donating my time to help out where ever there is a need. Since I was elected, our office has assisted thousands of constituents with a variety of needs- from getting long overdue inspections and ending a frustrating wait to helping veterans navigate the health care system. No concern is too small and it makes my day to know I have been able to help make a difference. My passion for helping out our neighbors began with my parents. They instilled a respect in me for doing my part to help in the community.
Service to others was a part of our lives growing up. I was just a little guy but it made quite the impression on me and at 16, I began volunteering for our local fire department. I was allowed to respond to emergency calls from school and my teachers encouraged me and helped lay the ground work for my career.
Sacrifice comes with the territory. I won’t lie- it was a lot of work but it was also a lot of fun. There is nothing that compares to joy you feel when you are able to make a difference in someone’s life. I then went on to become one of the youngest EMTs in WA. State. I have served as a professional Firefighter with Central Mason since 1992 and I am currently serving as a Lieutenant when not in session.
Education is a priority to me. If you have faith in kids to do the right thing and give them the opportunities, you will be amazed by the results. It is our job to encourage them and to give them the tools they will need to succeed along with the experiences that will help them achieve their goals. I am honored to serve on the Education Committee, Local Government and Public Safety. These committees address some of the greatest concerns of the citizens and work hand in hand to bring needed results.
Family is everything to me. I was born, raised and live in Allyn, Washington. I married my childhood sweetheart Dinah and we have 3 beautiful daughters- Alyssa, Megan and Sarah, a wonderful son-in-law Jeff and 2 amazing grandchildren. We enjoy camping, riding quads, playing board games and participating in community events.
Representatives are servants of the people and just like I put my life on the line for you as your Firefighter, I will continue to serve you to my fullest capacity as your Representative. I will stand for you and fight for you, with Courage, Character and Commitment. Because, I know that together we can do better!
