It’s not our imagination—Washington is currently vying with California for the dubious title of having the nation’s highest gas prices. What caused this situation? The cap-and-tax policies championed by Jay Inslee and passed by Olympia Democrats last year.

Ironically, Democrats’ cap-and-tax plan is working exactly as they promised—they want to cut carbon emissions by making people drive less, which means making gas more expensive. But that hasn’t stopped them from denying the reason for our sudden sky-high gas prices. Governor Jay Inslee and other legislative Democrats are now downplaying any connection between their failed policies and the surging gas prices. But the facts cannot be denied.
