From House Republican Leader,
Representative Dan Kristiansen -
I was elected to replace Richard DeBolt as Caucus Leader on April 27th, after he stepped down due to health concerns near the end of regular session. Most of our leadership team remains the same. Judy Warnick from the 13th Legislative District stepped up to replace me as Caucus Chair and I have no doubt that she’ll do an excellent job. Chad Magendanz of the 5th District is our most recent Assistant Floor Leader, elected after the appointment of Steve O’Ban to the Senate.
Our leadership team now consists of:
Joel Kretz – Deputy Leader,
Judy Warnick – Caucus Chair,
Shelly Short – Vice-Caucus Chair,
J.T. Wilcox – Floor Leader,
Matt Shea – Assistant Floor Leader,
Chad Magendanz – Assistant Floor Leader,
Paul Harris – Whip,
Jeff Holy – Assistant Whip,
Drew MacEwen – Assistant Whip, and
Elizabeth Scott – Assistant Whip
None of our leadership team should come as a surprise to you.
We are determined, optimistic, enthusiastic, and along with HROC Chair Cary Condotta, looking forward to November 2014. With your support we will lead a Republican Majority in the House in 2015. That may sound far away, but we think it’s just around the corner. With the loss of the 2/3rds requirement for tax increases and the McCleary decision, Washington State needs a new majority in the House.
I look forward to traveling the state after special session to discuss the issues we will continue to face with a Democrat majority in the House and the priorities our caucus will bring to state government in Washington. Please contact the HROC office if you’d like to be a part of that discussion and I will do my best to meet with you in the weeks after special session is adjourned.
