I’m Robert J. Sutherland. My wife and I have raised our four children in Snohomish County, and I believe it is one of the best places in the world to live and raise a family.
After graduating high school I volunteered to serve in the U.S. Air Force. Later I earned a degree in Biochemistry from Gonzaga University. I spent my career researching DNA and developing cancer therapies here in the Puget Sound area.
Over the years, we’ve enjoyed an active life of giving back. I was an Officer in a 501(c) (3) charity that awarded grants to students studying Scottish music, dance and language. I’ve raised money for Children’s Hospital in Seattle, and I’ve coached basketball at the Boys & Girls Club. And my wife is currently a leader in the Snohomish County 4H Equine program where our youngest daughter helps teach younger girls how to ride and take care of horses safely.
