I am proud to be a native Washingtonian, born in Spokane. My dad was in the United States Air Force for 20 years, and as a military family we moved frequently. As I was growing up, we were stationed in Germany, and a myriad of cities and states through the years. Upon my dad’s retirement, we chose to return to our home in Washington State, where I attended school and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1976. I have lived in the 17th District for most of my teenage and adult life.
I worked in fast food sector during my high school years and chose the banking field as a career after graduation. I worked for 1st Independent Bank in the Trust Department and then Columbia Credit Union in loans, membership and accounting for 12 rewarding years.
When my children were born I made the decision to take a hiatus from the business world and focus on raising my daughters and involving myself in their education. I worked in numerous volunteer roles at the girl’s schools and other extra curricular activities such as soccer, track and their musical endeavors. I was also a member of the Board of Directors of the local charitable organization, SWIFT.
As my children grew into adulthood, I returned to the business world where I have been the Governmental Affairs Director for DeWils Industries. I also served on the C-Tran Citizens Advisory Committee. I currently serve on the Leadership Council of the National Federation of Independent Business and on the Governmental Affairs Committee of Association of Washington Business.
I am a member of the SW Washington Search and Rescue Team along with my husband and two youngest daughters. I am a certified NRA instructor.
DeWils Industries is a proud permanent sponsor of the Veteran’s Court Board.
My political involvement started as a board member and then, the Chairmanship of We The People Vancouver, a local grassroots organization of citizens concerned about the ever-increasing growth and intrusion of Big Government. I have been a Precinct Committee Officer for the Republican Party since 2010. I was a delegate to the WA State Republican Convention in 2010 as well. Most recently, I was the Chairman of the Clark County Republican Party until February 1st of this year. I resigned to dedicate my full attention to run for this office.
Along with Tracy, my husband of 29 years, we are co-owners of DeWils Industries, a three generational manufacturing business, selling product throughout the U.S. and Japan and employing about 100 people.
Most importantly, Tracy and I are the proud parents of three daughters and recently became the grandparents of a fine young boy named Hunter.
Please join me, and together we will work to restore Freedom, Opportunity and Trust to our lives and those of our children.
