Sue Forde has lived and worked on the Olympic Peninsula for 33 years, actively involved in county politics for 28 years. She was elected twice to the Clallam County Home Rule Charter Commission, voted 1st vice chair by her peers in the second term. She has served as elected State Committee woman for six years, and currently has been serving as elected chair of the Clallam County Republican Party since 2019.
Sue has a business background, having worked in the escrow and title insurance industry for 21 years as Certified Senior Escrow Officer and manager. She has owned and operated small businesses including an independent escrow company, community newspaper, Christian bookstore, printing business, a small farm, and for the past two decades, a website design, print brokerage and consulting business.
Sue’s business knowledge and political background give her first-hand experience in dealing with county and state politics, and the taxes and regulations that have become increasingly burdensome over the past 24 years since Democrats have been in control.
Sue believes in community service. She was a founding member of the American Escrow Association covering five states including Washington, and taught escrow classes at community college. She has been active in various community organizations: Volunteer administrator and teacher for a nonprofit redirectional program for teens; board member of the Sequim Boys and Girls Club; board member and Interim President of North Olympic Counties Farm Bureau; various roles in her church; and a founding member of the local Toastmasters Club.
Sue is passionate about changing the direction in Olympia to reduce taxes and regulations and streamline government to better serve families and small businesses. She ran in 2020 during COVID and did well as a first-time candidate, despite draconian Government mandated shutdowns. Now, with name recognition and a growing show of support, she is working very hard to win in 2022.
Sue’s key issues include: Streamlining government; reducing regulations and taxes; working to make families’ lives and homes more affordable; protecting our communities through support of our law enforcement; and providing the best education for each child through school choice.
Sue stands for individual freedoms as written in our U.S. and State Constitutions, especially the first and second amendments. She opposes government mandates and will work to reform the unlimited emergency powers held by the Governor. She will vote for policies to ensure election integrity. As your representative for the citizens of the 24th District, she will make it her mission to hear the voices of all citizens and speak up for them in Olympia.
